How to Choose Scented Bath and Body Products

The right scented bath-and-body product is not simply the one with your favorite fragrance. It also needs to fit the job, your routine and how close you want the scent to remain.

Quick product finder

Product Primary role Fragrance experience
Foaming hand soap Hand washing Brief, close-range scent at the sink
Lotion Body moisturizing Close-to-skin fragrance with a familiar cream step
Body oil Body moisturizing and fragrance use Personal application ritual close to the skin
Beard oil Beard and skin conditioning Close-range fragrance near the face

Choose foaming hand soap when...

  • You want fragrance built into a functional sink routine.
  • You want the bathroom or kitchen to carry a small scent detail without using another room-fragrance product.
  • You prefer a brief fragrance experience rather than a full-body layer.

Foaming hand soap is not a substitute for lotion or body fragrance. It serves a different moment.

Choose lotion when...

  • You want a conventional moisturizing step.
  • You want scent to stay personal and close to the skin.
  • You prefer a cream product rather than an oil.
  • You want an easy second layer after cleansing.

Romilow lotions are for external body moisturizing use and should be used according to their directions.

Choose body oil when...

  • You enjoy an oil-based moisturizing ritual.
  • You want fragrance included in a deliberate body-care step.
  • You prefer a product that stays personal rather than scenting the room.

Body oil should not be confused with fragrance oil used in manufacturing or home fragrance. Use only the finished cosmetic product as directed.

Choose beard oil when...

  • You need beard and skin conditioning.
  • You want a close-range fragrance designed for the beard routine.
  • You prefer Business Casual or Cowboy, the current approved beard-oil fragrances.

Choose by fragrance style

  • Polished fresh woods: Business Casual.
  • Fresh rugged woods: Cowboy.
  • Dark marine woods: Rebel Black in currently approved body formats.
  • Dark berry amber: Blackberry Fairy.
  • Soft floral vanilla: Twilight Orchid.

Choose by how much fragrance you want

  • Lowest commitment: foaming hand soap.
  • Everyday close-range layer: lotion.
  • Intentional personal ritual: body oil.
  • Near-face grooming fragrance: beard oil.

Actual perception varies by fragrance, amount used, skin, activity and personal sensitivity.

Planned future formats

Romilow's Product Department is evaluating additional formats including:

  • Body wash or shower gel.
  • Foaming body scrub.
  • Perfume-oil rollerball.
  • Body mist.
  • Solid perfume.
  • Hand cream.
  • Bath salts, bubble bath and bath bombs.
  • Hair perfume.
  • Travel body sets.

Questions to ask before buying

  1. What job should the product perform?
  2. How close do I want the fragrance to stay?
  3. Do I prefer cream, oil or cleansing formats?
  4. Will I use it alone or layer it?
  5. Is the fragrance currently approved in that product type?

Use products within their category

  • Home fragrance belongs in the home.
  • Vehicle fragrance belongs in the vehicle.
  • Cosmetic products belong on the body only as directed.
  • A fragrance name appearing in several categories does not make the formulas interchangeable.

Choose the product by function first, then choose the fragrance that makes the routine feel like yours.
